- Zimarker: a black-and-white fiducial pattern, Zimark's proprietary scannable code that Zimark's cameras read.
- Code 128 barcode: Zimark's Code 128 barcode representing the fiducial marker.
- 22 x 10 cm label (22 cm tall, 10 cm wide).
- Zimarker reserved area: the bottom 12 cm are reserved for the Zimarker and Code 128 barcode.
- Customer/warehouse info area: the top 10 cm are yours, for additional customer or warehouse info.
- Linking a Zimarker with a Pallet ID.
- Storing the link in the Zimark system.
- API based coupling or hardware based coupling.
- Coupling is what makes a pallet camera-verifiable.
- Any unit a forklift moves (a traditional wooden pallet but also a crate, a roll cage, a drum, a wrapped stack) is a pallet in Zimark.
- Each pallet is identified by a pallet ID, a unique number often generated by a WMS.
- Once coupled, a pallet carries a Zimarker.
Zimark is standardizing on pallet. Some API endpoints and fields still use an earlier name: the /track/… endpoints and trackId refer to a pallet. When you see track in the API Reference, read it as "pallet."
- A container that groups pallets for tracking purposes.
- Grouping logic (by order, by load, by destination, etc.) is determined by your WMS configuration.
- A manifest's assets are simply the pallet IDs it groups.
- A physical warehouse loading location (dock door) equipped with Zimark hardware: cameras and a display screen.
